NEXT COURSE: OCTOBER 6 · 3 SEATS AVAILABLE

Online from Vienna · All levels

You know German.
You just don’t
speak it.

60 minutes of speaking practice every weekday, seven people at most. You talk in pairs, several pairs at the same time — with feedback on your own sentences, not on textbook dialogues.

    speaking practice
A man in a café talking to the person opposite him, relaxed, with an open gesture. FINALLY JOINING IN
That is the goal: being able to join in. Not perfect. Clear, quick, confident.

The problem is not grammar.

“90 minutes sitting there,
4 minutes talking —
nobody learns a language that way."

Speaking is the one skill you cannot quietly make up for somewhere else — not with colleagues, not at the Amt, not in the exam.

Active speaking minutes per person per sessionExample calculation, not a measurement

Standard course, 15 participants 4 min
SPRiCH, 7 participants 18 min

Example calculation, per person and per 60-minute session — not per group: a group course with 15 participants splits the speaking time between everyone; at SPRiCH several pairs speak at the same time, plus ten minutes of Speaking Sprint. Not a measured average from a study, but the arithmetic behind the format.

What you need it for

Speaking does not mean the same thing everywhere.

We practice the situations where you actually get stuck — not textbook dialogues.

  • Small talk

The two minutes before a meeting, in the office kitchen, in the elevator. You cannot memorize it — only practice it.

  • Work

Explaining something to the team, asking follow-up questions, disagreeing — without building every sentence first.

  • Everyday life & public offices

The doctor, the Amt, your landlady, the parents’ evening. Situations where nobody waits for your dictionary.

  • Exam

The speaking part of an exam is the same skill under time pressure. One use case among several.

  • Spontaneous follow-up questions

Not just answering: asking back, pressing further, keeping the conversation going.

  • Explaining an opinion

Giving reasons, weighing things up, disagreeing — the difference between being understood and joining in.

Before / After

What changes after eight weeks.

Reacting faster. Asking follow-up questions. Getting into a conversation. Explaining an opinion. Carrying on after an error instead of breaking off.

Exam situation: a man sits tensely in front of two examiners, searching for words. BEFORE
BEFORE He knows the rule. He cannot get it out.
The same exam situation: the same man answers, leaning in, with an expressive hand gesture. AFTER
AFTER He answers right away — and asks a question back.

How a session runs

Nobody lectures at you. The teacher talks little and corrects a lot.

  1. 1

    Parallel conversations in pairs

You talk in pairs, several pairs at the same time. Nobody waits minutes for their next sentence.

  2. 2

    Errors marked live

The teacher listens in and marks. After you have spoken, you correct your own sentences — precisely, without stopping the flow of the conversation every few words.

  3. 3

    Speaking Sprint

Ten minutes in pairs, everyone at the same time, no assessment. The focus: reacting fluently instead of building every sentence perfectly first.

Common questions

Before you book.

  • Is this only for the ÖIF exam?

No. We train speaking — small talk, work, everyday life and public offices just as much as the speaking part of an exam. The exam is one use case, not the purpose of the course. The intensive course running right now covers A2 → B1; which group fits you is something we sort out in the trial lesson.

  • What level is the course for?

We work with all levels, but always in groups at a similar stage — otherwise half the group says nothing. If you do not know your level: tick “not sure”. The level check happens in the trial lesson itself; there is no extra placement interview.

  • What happens if I miss a day?

The whole-group part is recorded — with the group’s consent — and every session comes with session notes that carry the marked errors. So you can listen back and read up on what happened. The speaking itself is the one thing you cannot make up later; that is why the format is built on five short sessions a week and not on two long ones.

  • Can I join once the course has already started?

The group starts together and stays together for eight weeks — that is the reason nobody stays silent after two weeks. Whether a running group has a seat free by way of exception, or when the next one starts, we will tell you if you ask.

  • What does the course cost, and when do I pay?

The course costs €900 for 8 weeks with 40 sessions of 60 minutes, at most 7 people. When you sign up for the trial lesson you pay €30, credited in full to the course price. After the lesson you decide: pay the rest in your account within 14 days — or don't, and the seat is released.

  • What if I have to cancel the trial lesson?

Up to 7 days before the lesson you cancel in your account and get the €30 back. Later, or if you don't show up, it is kept. No sales pitch, no automatic renewal: if the format is not for you, you hear nothing further from us.

  • Are the lessons recorded?

The whole-group part is recorded, and only with your consent at signup. The purpose is quality assurance: the founder listens in on samples, and you can listen back to a session you missed or found hard. Access is limited to the teacher and the founder. Storage period, withdrawal of consent and deletion are governed by the privacy policy, which will be published before the public launch — until then, just ask us directly.

  • What time zone are the times in?

All times are Vienna time (Europe/Vienna, so CET or CEST). The lessons run online and you can join from anywhere — just convert the time.

  • Who teaches?

Selected teachers, all working from the same documented method. The method comes from a certified ÖIF examiner who does not teach himself: he picks the teachers and listens through recordings every week.
